The Central Regional Police Command is pleading with the victim of the Moree tollbooth shooting incident to withdraw the case for amicable settlement, 3news.com has gathered.
A policeman at a checkpoint close to the Moree Tollbooth shot into a vehicle because the driver had not paid a toll levy of 50 pesewas.
One of the occupants, a woman, was seriously injured by the bullet, having a deep cut on his arm.
The victim, Dorothy Appiah was traumatised by the incident which happened on Sunday evening, but she is recovery now.

Speaking to 3News shortly after a meeting between the victim and the Police at the Regional Police Command, the woman claimed the Regional Commander pleaded with her to withdraw the case for peace to prevail.
According to Ms. Appiah, the Commander said at the meeting that the Policeman has accepted to pay for the all damages, including her medical bills.
Though she said she obliged and withdrew the case, the traumatised woman said she is not happy with the action since it was not done at her own will.
She rejected the claim that the policeman had been detained.
Ms. Appiah said the policeman has since the incident not shown any remorse for his action, claiming some other policemen have showered praises on him for his apparent unprofessional misconduct.
“I saw the policeman who did that to me and he is not even feeling remorse for what he did. He is just okay, Ms. Appiah said.
She said, she is not satisfied with the withdrawal of the case but has conceded for peace to prevail.
“The police commander wanted to make peace with us. As for me I am still not convinced but then he says we should leave everything to God so far as nothing happened and that they will bear all the cost,” she said.
Meanwhile, when 3News contacted the Regional Police Command for comment, they refused. Public Relations Officer of the Regional Police said a statement will be issued in due course.
