Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo last week Thursday commissioned, arguably, the biggest diaper factory in the sub-Saharan Africa located at Bortianor in Ghana’s capital Accra. The factory was established by a private Chinese company, Sunda International. Sunda Managing Director, Mr Dong Ming Hu noted that the company invested a total US$40 million under the first phase: 26 million dollars from the company own funds and 14 million dollars from Ghana local bank loan. Currently, the factory has five diaper production lines, one sanitary napkin production line and one wet tissue production line. The company is expected to employ about 500 in 2019. Sunda international intends to increase the refinancing of the diaper manufacturing project to 50 million dollars and add three more diaper production lines. At least 1000 people would be provided jobs after the completion of the second phase. Source: 3news.com | Ghana]]>
