Former President Jerry John Rawlings is full of praise for Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President John Mahama, for emerging the African Industrialist of the Year. Ibrahim Mahama was recognised at the 2018 African Achievers’ Awards held at the Houses of Parliament, Palace of Westminster last week. In a tweet on Monday evening, former President Rawlings attributed the awards to Mr. Mahama’s hard work. “My warm congratulations go to Ibrahim Mahama on his recognition by the AAA as African Industrialist of the Year. “This is a reward for your hard work, Ibrahim. Best wishes to you,” Mr. Rawlings tweeted.
Mr. Mahama is the founder of Engineers and Planners, the largest indigenous-owned mining company in West Africa, and the owner of several other businesses in Ghana, which he started in 1997 after his return from London. Mahama has also invested in Asutsuare Poultry Farms, which was started in 2004 and produces 150,000 eggs and 10,000 live broilers a day. Mahama is also an investor at Dzata Cement company, a fully Ghanaian-owned cement processing factory located in Tema.
