Some caterers of the School feeding Programme have expressed fears of losing their jobs when the the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) takes over the reigns of power come 2024.
According to them, it is an undeniable fact that they are members of the ruling party thus their recruitment and same would be done for NDC caterers when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is kicked out of power.
In an interview with Citi FM, one of the caterers based in Kumasi, Dorothy Ofori-Sarpong, “we know that when the NDC wins power, we will all lose our jobs…All of us are members of the NPP.”
She hinted that it is because they are members of the ruling party hence their decision to continue cooking for the school children even though government owes them for several months.
In her view that is their contribution to the party.
She made these remarks while expressing her anger at the Ashanti Regional Minister whom she claimed refused to address their needs when they tried to petition his office over arrears due them.
The caterers in Kumasi on Tuesday besieged the office of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah to vent their frustrations but were ignored.
The minister described the action of the school feeding caterers as illegal and that it should not be condoned.
But Madam Dorothy slammed the minister and said he failed to show them love and concern.
