Chairman of multinational steel and iron manufacturing company, B5 Plus Ghana Limited, Mukesh Thakwani, has been adjudged Ghana’s ‘Best Entrepreneur Of The Year.’
The award was conferred on Mr Thakwani, who doubles as the Director of Delhi Public School International (DPSI) Ghana, at the second edition of the Ghana Manufacturing Awards, held on May 24, 2018, at the Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City, Accra.
Mr Thakwani snatched the award from his contender, Ernest Ofori Sarpong of Special Company Limited, during the ceremony which saw B5 Plus Company Limited, emerging also as Ghana’s ‘Best Steel Manufacturing Company of the Year.’
The Ghana Manufacturing Awards celebrates innovation in the industry with an ultimate aim of compelling professionals and companies to compete locally and globally. It also seeks to celebrate outstanding performance in stewardship, health and safety and corporate social responsibility.
Commenting on the award which was presented to him by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Robert Ahomka-Lindsey, Mr Thakwani explained that the company’s relentless efforts in paying critical attention to quality and professionalism have been the reason for its success over the years.
He explained that B5 Plus shall continue to lead the way in the industry by continuing to provide quality products to its clients and as well as ensuring improvement in the welfare of its staff without whom, he said, the many successes over the years could not have been achieved.
Mr Thakwani who is not only an Indian business tycoon but a true philanthropist reiterated that his company shall continue to give back to society through its corporate social responsibility initiatives, especially, in the area of quality education for learners in Ghana and across West Africa.
Earlier this year, B5 Plus Company won the ‘Best Expatriate Steel Company of the Year’ at the maiden edition of the Ghana Expatriate Business Awards as well as the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) Club 100 Awards.
