“He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.” (Proverbs 19:17)
The only biblically-prescribed way of lending to God and receiving back with interest is to give to the poor.
Today happens to be Boxing day, a holiday after Christmas day meant for the sharing of presents. Its origin dates back to Queen Victoria in the early 19th century.
The holiday was primarily observed in Britain and all Commonwealth nations. Today, it has become popular in several parts of the world.
Maybe, it makes some logical sense that after we remember God’s greatest gift to humanity on Christmas day, we remind ourselves to show kindness to each other on boxing day.
Someone said, “Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have.” May you be reminded that you can also do something today and everyday to brighten someone’s day. The best part is, the Lord will personally repay you on their behalf.
