“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4)
God takes us through diverse experiences, some of which may be bitter, in order to mature us.
Fire is not meant to destroy gold but to bring out the best in it. Similarly, if you’re made of gold, don’t consider trials and afflictions as tools of your destruction but rather agents of your refinery. The Scripture does not specify the sources of the trials but guarantees the end result.
The moments of persecutions and accusations, periods of God’s seeming silence or absence, instances of failure and disappointments are all tools to refine you into a mature child of God who lacks nothing. Therefore, count it pure joy.
The mountain peak experiences of life are meant to inspire us, but it’s the valley experiences that mature us. If you’re going through fire at the moment keep going because the testing of your faith will bring you to the place of maturity.
Remain inspired!
