“In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” (2 Corinthians 2:11)
If you’re in a battle with an enemy you’re ignorant about, you’re in for a suicide mission.
One of the things to know about your spiritual enemy is that he is persistent in his schemes. After his famous temptation of the Lord Jesus Himself and losing in all three attempts to get Jesus out of the will of God, the devil left just to find the next available opportunity to try again.
“When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.” (Luke 4:13)
When you’re dealing with a persistent spiritual enemy, your momentary spiritual victories must not get to your head. You must remain always vigilant with your spiritual guards always in place.
This calls for consistency in strengthening ourselves spiritually always. A little exposure may be the next opportune time for the enemy to strike back. When we resist him always, he will have no place in our lives.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10)
