Former Chairman of the Confiscated Assets Committee says even the Catholic Pope is bound to be corrupted by the system of governance being run in Ghana if he is made the country’s president. “We know the Pope is an embodiment of holiness but the system will not help him but will rather make him corrupt,” Mr. Carl Wilson asserted. “You can bring the Pope and make him the president in Ghana and within one year, you will be calling the Pope corrupt”, he told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa on Monday. He suggested that the current government is not doing what is expected of it due to corruption. “The ship is not heading towards the right direction. The NPP ship is not heading into the right direction and people are calling for change. The ordinary people are suffering”, he observed. He explained that “I heard 18 factories commissioned under the One-District-One-Factory…we have 216 districts and you are telling us 18 have been commissioned?” Mr. Wilson noted that “I spoke for Ghana prior to the 2016 elections but we were all deceived by the propaganda. We were deceived by the messages but I was campaigning for Ghana”. He remarked, “I believe in Ghana. I believed what was happening in Ghana at the time was not good”.
