The former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Lepowura MND Jawula has died.
The football association confirmed the death of the veteran football administrator in a tweet on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
Alhaji Jawula was President of the Ghana Football Association from 1997 to 2001.
He had reportedly been ill for some time now.
He passed on while on admission at a medical facility in the United States of America where he had been flown to from Ghana for further treatment.
Breaking the news to football fans, the GFA said it is saddened by the development.
“We’re saddened by the news of Lepowura MND Jawula’s death. Alhaji was a Chairman of the GFA from 1997-2001.He also chaired the @MTNFACupGH & was Chairman of the @GhanaLeague Organizing Committee until his demise. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him,” the tweet by the GFA read.
He is the current chairman of the Premier League Management Committee (PLMC).
Mr Jawula was also the Lepowura of the Kujolobito Gate of Lepo-Kpembe in the Northern Region.
