File picture[/caption] A 40-year-old woman Faiza Abdellah was left with a “thin piece of flesh” holding her wrist to the arm after a machete attack. Her assailant Imoro Abubakari told the police he went to that extreme as a way of revenging an assault on his mother by the victim. The 18-year-old who is currently in police custody had travelled from Tamale to Kpano-Nanton all in the Northern region to commit the heinous crime. According to the police, they received report on Sunday morning around 9am from one Mohammed Zimblim about the action of the suspect. Imoro emerged menacingly wielding machete as he approached the victim. Sensing danger, Faiza took to her heels but was ferociously pursued by Imoro who caught up with her and started slashing her. He succeeded in his cruel escapade, virtually cutting off Faiza’s wrist. “Suspect in his caution statement admitted the offence and stated that victim Faiza Abdellah, 40 years had used stick to hit his mother and her hand got broken as a result and that he took a machete to the house of Faiza in retaliation,” the police said. The suspect told the police that he lives in Tamale but came to Kpano after receiving information on the alleged assault on his mother. According to him, whilst he was approaching with the machete in hand, and saw the victim fleeing made him suspect that “she might be his mother’s assailant”, and therefore chased her to sever the wrist. The suspect has been detained to assist the police in their investigations. Warning: Gory image of Faiza’s arm By 3news.com | Ghana]]>
