The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has said he would not protect the abysmal legacy of President Akufo-Addo should he be voted into power.
According to the NDC’s presidential candidate, the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia-led administration has no legacy other than corruption and economic mismanagement which is not worth saving.
Mr. Mahama’s reply comes after the president urged Ghanaians not to vote for the NDC and their candidate in the December 2024 polls since the former president would destroy the good projects and initiatives he has put in place for the nation.
The President, during a mini rally in Doboro, Eastern region, after visiting Blue Skies Limited rather encouraged voters to choose his vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to succeed him to further the good works that he has done.
In the president’s view, Dr. Bawumia is a more suitable candidate compared to Mahama.
However, Mr. Mahama replied President Akufo-Addo’s remarks on social media that he will rather not continue with Nana Akufo-Addo’s legacy of corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, and a bankrupt economy.
“Of course, I will not protect your ‘legacy’ of corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, bankrupt economy, increased unemployment, and pushing more of our people into the poverty bracket,” Mr Mahama posted on X.
