Ghanaian screen goddess Jackie Appiah celebrated her 39th birthday last Monday, December 5, 2022.
She spent the day in her hometown Ejisu-Abenkro in the Ashanti Region where she donated a 10-unit modern public toilet (water closet) and other gift items to the people of the town.
In addition, the award-winning actress donated a newly constructed borehole for the town.
Some of the gift items Jackie Appiah gave to the people included mattresses, school bags, food, soft drinks, toiletries among others.
In a speech at the ceremony, Jackie Appiah expressed her excitement at the opportunity to serve her own people.
“The joy in my heart today stems from the smiles and happiness on the faces of the people of this great community and more profoundly because this is my homeland,” she said.
“As today coincidentally marks my birthday, I feel a sense of fulfilment seeing how the Jackie Appiah Foundation continues to impact lives through its several projects in different parts of the country. Today, commissioning this ultra-modern toilet facility and an electric borehole here gives me reasons to do more and even better for society.
“Let me also state that this is just the beginning of numerous good things to come as this Foundation is committed to supporting this and other communities to meet its future aspirations for development. Let’s develop a good maintenance culture to the facilities to give them a longstanding and long-lasting lifespan.
“I thank you all for your cooperation, and assistance from the inception of these projects through to the end. I can only say long live Abenkro, Long live Ashanti Region and long live Ghana. God bless you all,” she concluded.
