The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has filed her nomination forms to contest the 13th May 2023 primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The nomination forms were filed by the lawmaker’s manager, Dr. Francis Horbah, who was accompanied by some Jomoro NDC Constituency executives at the party office.
Madam Affo-Toffey, who is seeking re-election, is being challenged by three other members of the party.
In an interview, her manager said: “Today is Monday, 20th March 2023, we the NDC executives have finally filed and submitted the file of Hon Dorcas Affo-Toffey (our mother)…we thank God…We went through all the process, we have met all the legal requirements.”
He added: “Everything went on smoothly, now we waiting for the vetting process. We promise to do our best and give the maximum support she needs thereby making her win one more time to be able to continue her good works for the people of Jomoro.
“And now to everyone that supported this effort (filing process), we say God richly bless you all most especially everyone that help financially.”
Dr. Horbah expressed gratitude to Madam Affo-Toffey for not disappointing the Constituency.
“To Hon Dorcas, thanks for not disappointing us. We are proud of you. We know your second term is protected and rest assured. May God bless and protect you, and give you enough strength. We can’t wait to have you lead and win you second term.”
The Assembly Member for Bonyere Electoral Area, Spyvee, who was there to support the submission of the form and spoke on behalf of the rest of the assembly members pledged support to the MP.
“On behalf of the assembly members, we declare our full support to Hon Dorcas Affo-Toffey, for we know she is the hope of Jomoro.”
