Euracare, a subsidiary of Eurapharma, the healthcare arm of the CFAO Group has officially opened its advanced diagnostics and heart centre in Ghana. The facility provides Ghanaians with a world-class medical service they often had to obtain overseas, thus providing a cutting-edge technological platform enabling Ghanaians and diasporan surgeons to conduct minimally-invasive procedures in the fields of neurological, gastrointestinal, orthopaedic, vascular and urological surgeries. The wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia who opened the facility acknowledged that Euracare presence in Ghana is timely because as a developing country, Ghana needed such health facilities to care for the health needs of the growing middle class so they can fully contribute to the growth of the nation. She however urged its managers to put measures in place to support the less privileged and children in the Ghanaian society who genuinely cannot afford a world class service. She therefore suggested that a quota of revenue generated can be set aside as part of Eurocare’s corporate social responsibility to support these people. Lady Julia also called on management to open similar centers in other parts of the country. “I wish to encourage Euracare to consider extending their services to other parts of the country especially Kumasi my home region, also make your services available to the less privileged and children needing special care as part of your social responsibility programmes.” On his part, the Euracare Director of Medical Services, Aymeric Erouart, praised the tireless effort of Dr Lesley Opoku and Dr Worlanyo Kudzo Seneadza for their role in the establishment of Euracare in Ghana. He reiterated that the facility exists to offer world-class medical attention to Ghanaians. He urged health authorities especially the country’s teaching hospitals to collaborate with the facility in dealing with complex neurological, gastrointestinal, orthopaedic, vascular and urological surgeries. Dr. Glenn de Villiers, Managing Director of EURACARE said although CFAO is noted for its dealership in cars, it also has a strong arm in the medical field. He said 968 new patients had visited the facility since its opening to the public last year. Source: 3news.com | Ghana]]>
