Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has commenced investigations into an incident which has led to the call for dismissal of one of its regional directors.
The incident involves the Ashanti Regional Director of the NSS, Mr Alex Opoku-Mensah verbally abusing a nurse at the Manhyia District Hospital.
According to a press release by the scheme, management has invited Mr Alex Opoku-Mensah for preliminary investigations into the incident and will in turn update the public accordingly.
Management say they regret the incident and assures the public and the nursing fraternity of their dedication to resolve the issue.
Earlier today, the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association(GRNMA) called for the dismissal of the Ashanti regional director of the NSS, Mr Alex Opoku Mensah within 72 hours for verbally abusing a nurse.
Also, Mr Opoku-Mensah has rendered an unqualified apology saying he “understands the disappointment, and appreciates the inconvenience his action has caused the general public, as well as the nursing fraternity and the Manhyia Hospital.”
