The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is said to have found more cash at the home of former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
This follows a thorough search by Officials of the Office of the Special Prosecutor on Monday, July 24, in relation to the theft of some US$1 million, €300,000 and millions of Ghana cedis by her housemaids.
The search was conducted at both her official residence at Cantonments and her home at Abelemkpe.
According to a report by TV3, it took officials from the OSP about five hours to complete counting the undisclosed amount.
Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah was Monday picked up for questioning over suspected corruption and placed under arrest for several hours.
She was subsequently granted bail at about 10:20pm.
She has also been served with a lifestyle assessment form which she is expected to fill and submit to the OSP.
The former minister who has dominated public discourse when news broke on Friday that two housemaids who worked for her at their home are facing trial with others for the theft of huge sums of money and other items from the home.
The two house helps; 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei allegedly made away with US$1 million, €300,000 and millions of Ghana cedis between July and October 2022.
The ladies also stole some clothes, handbags, perfumes, jewellery, kente cloth and suits belonging to Mrs. Dapaah’s husband.
