Our Lady of Fatima School, a privately owned basic school at Kpong, in the Lower Manya Krobo municipality of the Eastern Region has been temporarily closed down by school management to avoid pupils from getting infected with the H3N2 flu. School Authorities sent messages to parents and guardians whose wards are in the boarding house on Tuesday November 12, 2019 to pick up pupils from school. The message stated: “In view of the viral spread of the H3N2 (Flu) within the school catchment area, where few neighbouring schools have been affected, the school breaks as a precautionary measure for two (2) weeks to prevent a mass spread. “The School therefore, closes down on Tuesday 12th November, 2019. Boarders report on Monday 25th November, 2019 for classes to resume on Tuesday 26th November, 2019. “Other Adjustments would be made to keep the academic calendar uninterrupted.” 3news’ checks on Wednesday showed that some parents have picked up their children from the School.
