The Assin Central NPP parliamentary aspirant, Mr. Joseph Adjei-Banin, who is also the CEO of JAB Foundation, has advised residents to go for regular eye screening at accredited health facilities to ensure that their eyes are in good condition and disease-free.
He gave the advice when the Joseph Adjei-Banin Foundation (JAB) collaborated with the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital to offer free eye screening and reading glasses to over 1000 people in more than eight communities.
The beneficiary communities include Assin Awisam, Asamang, Australia, Nnyaadowam, Akwanhyiam, Obraye-Oko, Kumamanta, Bukari-Forson, and Mmaa-nyena within the constituency.
In an interview with Newstitbits.com’s reporter, Mr. Adjei Banin said one of the most important human organs that need to be properly and regularly taken care of is the eye, hence their decision to render the exercise to the communities.
He indicated that those with severe problems which may require surgery would be referred to a specialist for treatment at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital
The beneficiaries thanked Mr. Joseph Adjei Banin and his Foundation for bringing the exercise to their communities, adding that they did not have money to visit the hospital for such screening so the exercise has been very helpful.
The Queen mother of Assin Awisam expressed her joy and lauded Mr Joseph Adjei-Banin for the gesture.
