President Akufo-Addo has revoked the appointment of Gilbert Ken Asmah as the Chief executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly in the Western Region.
The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, in a letter addressed to Mr. Asmah, said the decision takes immediate effect.
“By Virtue of Article 243(3)(b) of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and Section 20 (3) (b) the Local Governance Act, Act 936. His Excellency the President has revoked your appointment as Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly with immediate effect,” the letter dated May 12, 2020 read in part.
He has been asked to hand over to the Regional Minister.
The letter did not state why the MCE’s appointment was revoked.
