According to former Ashanti Regional organizer of the NPP, who described the actions of the security men who undertook the exercise as ‘Rambo Style’, there are other civil ways of approaching the situation without necessarily invading the house in his absence. He made these comments when he appeared on Onua FM morning show ‘Yen Nsem Pa’ hosted by Bright Kwesi Asempa. About 15 armed security personnel dressed in military uniform, stormed the private residence of the main opposition National Democratic Congress’ National Organizer, Kofi Adams, and seized five luxurious vehicles. They were allegedly accompanied by personnel from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA). Ex-president John Dramani Mahama has joined some well meaning Ghanaians to condemn the action. The former president wrote on his Facebook wall about the “unprovoked attacks on NDC functionaries and supporters”, and called for an end to such actions. Meanwhile, Nhyiaeso MP Kennedy Kankam reiterated, “We should not encourage such Rambo style of going to people’s home, the right procedure of securing warrant and appropriate document should be adhered to. The way they conducted themselves in the case of Kofi Adams was not the best.” He maintained that Kofi Adams is a private citizen and if he is suspected to have done something wrong, the right procedure must be adopted, adding that invading his home without warrant should not be encouraged. He asked that the right methods should be used in retrieving suspected state properties without creating unnecessary suspicions of political witch-hunting. By Bright Dzakah |Onua 95.1FM|3news.com]]>
