The police have arrested 18 persons for causing disturbances on the University of Ghana campus.
The 18 suspects were together with about 200 others believed to be former members of the Commonwealth Hall of the university.
According to a police report, the situation has been contained and calm has since been restored.
All 18 suspects are in police custody and will be put before the court to face justice, the police said.
Security has since been beefed up on the campus for academic activities to continue without any hindrance.
“We would like to give the assurance that all other persons involved in the disturbances will be arrested and brought to face justice,” the police have assured.
An Accra High court injuncted the residential policy decision by the university authorities after some frustrated students of the Commonwealth Hall filed a lawsuit against the university for directing residential students to seek accommodation outside the campus.
Some students on Tuesday February 14 clashed with the police in an attempt to reoccupy their hall of residence after the court ruling.
