A High Court in Tamale has granted bail to Ernest Green, a 28-year-old nurse alleged to have raped an expatriate Daniela Maltiti, 32.
The court presided over by Justice Osei Kwame Gyamfi granted Ernest who is a nurse at Damongo Catholic Hospital a GHS10,000 bail with one surety on Tuesday.
The suspect was arrested after the Italian national accused him of raping her whilst on admission at the health facility.
The health worker was denied bail when the case was first called at the Circuit Court, which compelled his lawyer to file for bail application at the High Court.

The High Court in Tamale which heard the case today, Tuesday April 17, 2018, said the police have failed to provide medical report of the victim.
The trial judge also indicated the refusal of the police to subject the suspect to immediate medical checks of semen even when he availed himself, gives him enough grounds to grant the suspect bail.
Justice Gyamfi further pointed to police’s refusal to pick the bed sheets at the hospital used by the complainant Daniela Maltiti, which he said amounts to a shoddy work by the police.
Meanwhile, the substantive case of rape would continue at the Circuit Court on April 26, 2018.
