Organised Labour and Government today agreed to a 30 per cent increment of the Single Spine Base Pay for 2023.
The Controller and Accountant General has hereby been directed to effect this starting from the January 2023 payroll.
“That the effective date for the implementation of the 2023 base pay shall be 1st January, 2023,” a joint statement issued by the parties after the meeting said on Thursday evening.
Labour had earlier demanded a 50% increment as compensation for the harsh economic conditions.
Present at the meeting were the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations with his deputy, the Deputy Minister of Finance, and her team and Chief Executive Officer for the Fair Wages and Commission.
