Barely a week after the appointment of Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta by President Akufo-Addo as the caretaker minister for the Trade and Industry Ministry, he has been asked to step aside for another minister to manage that portfolio.
Ken Ofori-Atta who is the substantive Minister for Finance was assigned to that ministry following the resignation of Mr. Alan Kyerematen on January 5, 2023.
But the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin on Friday, January 13 issued a press release announcing Ken Ofori-Atta’s replacement.
The Trade and Industry Ministry would now be taken care of by Mr. Samuel Abu Jinapor who is the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has tasked the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, MP, to assume responsibility for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, with effect from Monday, 16th January 2023, pending the appointment of a substantive replacement for the outgoing Minister, Mr. Alan Kyerematen,” the release said.
