A 28-year-old teacher has committed suicide in his room at Bibiani Estate in the Western North region.
The victim has been identified as Robert Yaw Agboshie Wayome.
According to his obviously distraught mother, Maame Oparebea, her son did not come out of his room as at 10 am in the morning, something she described as unusual.
She said Yaw, as he was affectionately called, was also a footballer and always got up early to go for jogging to keep fit.
However, she acknowledged that the deceased told her on Wednesday evening that he will not go for training Thursday morning because he wanted to sleep a little longer.
But getting to the afternoon when she realised that Yaw had still not come out of his room, she became anxious. She went to his door, banged it several times without any response.
With the support of some residents, his door was forced opened only for them to find her son hanging on a rope tied to a crossbar in his room.
The police were quickly informed, who came and conveyed the body to Bibiani Government Hospital morgue for preservation as investigation is conducted into the incident.
Pastor Kwabena Ohene Gyan, whose church the deceased fellowshipped, expressed shock because Yaw was in church the previous night, few hours before he allegedly took his life.
He pleaded with the police to quicken their investigations so that the true cause of his death would be made known.
