The VVIP Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport in Accra would be closed to the travelling public from tomorrow, Tuesday, 31, 2023, albeit temporary.
The closure would last for two weeks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announed.
The Ministry said the VVIP Lounge is being closed for restructuring works to be carried out, which would reposition the place.
“The aim of this new directive is to enable restructuring of the Lounge for efficient travel and to meet international standards, ” a statement by the Ministry said on Monday.
The Ministry has apologised to those who would be affected by the directive as it urges them to make use of other available options.
“While expressing apologies for any inconvenience the closure might cause, the Ministry encourages users of the Lounge to patronize the Commercial Important Person (CIP) Lounge and the Business Lounge at Terminal 3.”
