NDC vets Jomoro MP Dorcas Affo-Toffey today

The Vetting Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western Region is expected to vet aspiring parliamentary candidates for the Jomoro Constituency on Monday, April 3, 2023

Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the incumbent Member of Parliament, and Francis Akatia Kwaido are running for the Jomoro seat.

Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the MP, stated in an interview, “I will go for vetting on Monday and I urged my constituents to pray and stand by me.”

“I am contesting with another man. In the year 2019, when I contested, we were three, two men, Francis Akatia Kwaido, Nda Blay Armah and myself. The delegates were over 1,800. Mr. Nda Blay Armah had four votes, Mr. Francis Akatia Kwaido had 188 votes, and I had the rest of the votes in the last primaries”, she explained.

Madam Affo-Toffey said, “my people know I have done well looking at what I went through in court. They know I have done well, and they will vote for me”.

The MP in a post on Facebook expressed strong optimism that she would emerge victorious after the process.

She expressed her readiness to remain committed to serving her constituents.

She wrote “I, Hon Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the MP for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, will this day, Monday, April 3, 2023, appear before the Vetting Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western Region to be vetted as I seek re-election to represent the good people of Jomoro.

“I kindly urge you all, especially my lovely constituents in Jomoro, to support me in prayers as I go through this mandatory exercise with everyone who want to lead our great NDC party in all the 275 constituencies across the country. I know with your constant prayers, God has already done it.

“Together, we shall make Jomoro and Ghana work. God bless us all. Thank you.”

who would your most humble servant be?

At a time when power is flaunted more than it is earned, we rise with a different call: #TumiNniSuban—Power without character is nothing. We are done with leaders who wear authority like a costume but lack the soul to serve. Leadership must reflect the people’s dignity, not diminish it. So we ask If elections were held today, who would your most humble servant be?
