The Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong has said the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not hand over power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He noted that the ruling party must remain in power at all cost.
The MP, who doubles as the Minister for Food and Agriculture, vowed that the NPP will resist any threats from the opposition NDC because they [NPP] have the men.
“NDC party will collapse. If the NDC dares to use threats, Violence and foolishness in the 2024 election we will let them know we have the men. We will show them that we have the men,” the MP told NPP members at a unity walk at Mpraeso.
Bryan Acheampong emphasized that it will never happen that “the NPP will stand on a platform to hand over power to the NDC. It will never happen! We will make sure NPP remain in government at all cost.”
He further blamed the current economic downturn on Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine noting that the NDC wanted to capitalize on such misfortunes.
He was however, quick to say that when government secures the IMF deal, the economy will bounce back come July this year while praising government for interventions which has slowed the cedi depreciation and reduced fuel prices.
