Alan should go independent to test his popularity – Nyaho Tamakloe counsels

Vote for a candidate Ghanaians will prefer – Alan K woos NPP

Statesman and Founding Member of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe is advising Mr. Alan Kyerematen to break away from the governing party going into next year’s general elections.

He believes Alan has not been treated fairly by the party, and has therefore become necessary for him to assess his chances of becoming Ghana’s president in the future.

“Alan Kyerematen should go independent to test his popularity,” Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe posited on Wednesday as he wades into Alan’s withdrawal from the NPP presidential race.

Mr. Kyerematen, a former Minister of Trade and Industry, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, announced in a statement that he would not partake in the NPP’s presidential primary scheduled for November 4, 2023.

He cited a number of issues which he said pointed to the fact that the party is on the course to “self-destruction”.

“This incident and various acts of violence and collusion, reported in other Voting Centers, are appalling, unconscionable, and despicable,” Alan said in his statement.

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe who said he saw the withdrawal coming, didn’t seem surprise at all.

He recounted a number of incidents in the party to buttress his claims of calculated attempts to thwart Alan’s dream, for which reason he wants him to test his popularity outside the party.

The Founding Member also decried the politics of money he claimed is gaining root in the NPP, where the highest bidder is given the nod.

Without giving any evidence, he claimed in the just ended special electoral college of the NPP, one of the candidates paid as high as GH¢500,000 to earn just a vote.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tamakloe has faulted Alan Kyerematen for not heeding his advice to resign from government earlier.

He said when Alan realized that the Akufo-Addo-led government was not prepared to take his proposals on board when things were getting tough, that was the opportune moment to resign and brighten his chances of becoming the president.

Alan Kyerematen resigned from government, much later, in January 2023 to focus on his presidential ambition.

who would your most humble servant be?

At a time when power is flaunted more than it is earned, we rise with a different call: #TumiNniSuban—Power without character is nothing. We are done with leaders who wear authority like a costume but lack the soul to serve. Leadership must reflect the people’s dignity, not diminish it. So we ask If elections were held today, who would your most humble servant be?
