Mrs. Patricia Christabel Kyerematen, the wife of Mr. Alan Kyerematen, is upbeat about her husband’s chances of winning the 2024 general elections to form the next government.
According to her, with God on Mr. Kyerematen’s side, victory would be his come December next year.
Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who withdrew from the New Patriotic Party presidential race citing several reasons, finally resigned from the party on September 5, 2023 to contest as an independent presidential candidate.
He told a gathering in Accra on Monday that his decision to leave the party was to avoid creating “further tension and division” in the NPP.
According to him, “the NPP as it exists now has very little resemblance to the Party that I joined in 1992 and helped to nurture. The Party has been hijacked by a selected group of Party leaders and elders, government appointees, ‘behind the curtain power brokers’ and some unscrupulous Party apparatchiks.”
In a short interview with journalists after the declaration, Mr. Kyerematen’s wife asserted that her husband is the right person to lead Ghana as espoused by him early on.
She described Alan Kyerematen as “a good man, he is the honest man, he is the man with vision, and he is what Ghana needs”.
“You would agree with me that, now, the signal is clear, and it is more than possible that this will happen,” Patricia Christabel Kyerematen asserted.
Asked if the husband was not embarking on a fruitless journey, so far as the presidential ambition is concerned, the potential First Lady maintained, “there is nothing impossible if God permits it”.
