The Paramount Chief of Ekumfi Traditional Area, Odeefo Akyin VIII has asked denied reports that they requested for the autopsy report of the late former President, John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.
According to the Traditional Counsil, Ghanaians to treat any such news linking him to the autopsy report as “malicious, untrue and mischievous.”
The Ekumfi Chiefs, in a statement vehemently debunked delegating any group to the Jubilee House to demand the autopsy report of Professor Mills from President Akufo-Addo.
“To set the records straight, the Paramount Chief Odeefo Akyin VIII has not elected nor delegated anybody nor any group of persons to His Excellency (H.E.) the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo or any other institution to demand an Autopsy on the late Professor Mills for us, or on behalf of the family,” said the statement issued on Monday, January 29, 2024,
Asking the Ghanaian publics to treat such news with contempt, the chiefs further counselled that indigenes of Ekumfi, should not allow themselves to be used to perpetuate any shameful act relating to the demise of Prof. Mills.
“Ekumfi Nananom led by the Paramount Chief Odeefo Akyin VIII also wish to send a strong signal to anyone or group of persons purported to come from Ekumfi or elsewhere, and who allow themselves to be used to perpetuate such disgraceful and malicious act, may have to prepare to face the wrath of Nananom,” the statement indicated.
The statement stressed that the late Professor Atta Mills must be allowed to rest in peace!
The comments follow the recent misunderstanding between the maternal and paternal families of the late President where a faction is demanding the report with the other saying they have it.
