Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Ibrahim Sanni Daara has debunked rumours circulating on social media that Black Stars coach Avram Grant has died of a heart attack. There were reports that the coach had passed on Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack in Gabon but Sanni Daara says these rumours are absolutely false. “Let me start with this viral news claiming that Ghana coach Avram Grant died yesterday and let me assure the fans of the Black Stars that Avram Grant is fully alive and even trained with the squad yesterday,” Saani told the press in Franceville on Wednesday, February 1. “He doesn’t have any illness whatsoever and he is very fit and sound. So we were surprised when the news claiming that the man died of a heart attack. “We just ask the fans to ignore this news so we can focus on the match against Cameroon. “He is very healthy and alive and I believe these rumours must stop so the team can focus on the next match ahead.” Grant led Ghana to Silver in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and he is hoping to go a step further in this year’s edition.
