President Akufo-Addo leaves for Togo

Nana Addo [R] & Togo Prez Faure Gnassingbe[/caption]The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, left Ghana on Tuesday, 26^th June, 2018, for Lome, Togo, to facilitate, as mandated by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the dialogue aimed at resolving the ongoing political crisis in that country. President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana on Wednesday, 27^th June, 2018, and in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead. There has been political tension in Togo since August last year as the Coalition of Opposition Parties is demanding the resignation of President Gnassingbe in a bid to bring the Gnassingbe dynasty to an end.
