The chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, her two deputies and a member of the Commission have taken charge of affairs at the EC, less than 24 hours of being sworn into office. The two deputies Dr. Bossman Asare and Samuel Tettey as well Adwoa Asuama Abrefa together with their boss were at the Commission Thursday to apprise themselves with the task ahead of them. Having been sworn in by President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Wednesday evening, the four were charged to quickly move into action and be guided by past events. “You, Madam Chair and your two deputies, have come to office at a time when there is considerable anxiety in the nation about the work of the Commission,” the president said, “As you begin work, you will find no ‘honeymoon’ period; neither will you be afforded the chance to settle in to your new responsibilities.” 3news.com gathered that the chairperson, her deputies and the other commissioners met with the directors at the Commission on Thursday. The new commissioners later met with Jean Mensa to discuss matters relating to the work of the Electoral Commission.
