About nine people are feared dead when a boat they were traveling with capsized at Azizakpe in the Ada East District in the Greater Greater Accra Region.
The incident happened on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at about 9am.
The victims were said to have boarded the boat at Azizanya and on their way to Azizakpe when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Reports suggest that the people encountered bad weather and coupled with the strong sea waves, they boat overturned.
Azizakpe is the community where the estuary is located.
The leader of the rescue team whose name was given as Mr. Amesimeku told the media four bodies have been recovered as search continues for survivors.
“We have found two babies and two elderly women who are all dead, and we are left with about five more persons,” he noted.
