A flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has filed an interlocutory injunction against the party’s upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries slated for Saturday, May 13.
Dr. Duffuor among other claims has alleged that 220 out of the 275 constituencies have been verified.
The former Minister also believes that an exceptional list of 74,799 has been created which cannot also be verified due to lack of information.
On account of the above information and other reasons, he is seeking to put the NDC’s primaries, scheduled to elect elect the party’s flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 elections on hold.
Dr. Duffuor, who is contesting the Presidential Primaries with former President John Mahama and former KMA boss, Kojo Bonsu, had earlier complained about some discrepancies in the voter album. This also explains why he is asking the court to postpone the said election in a bid to resolve his listed concerns.
The flagbearer aspirant further noted that over 3,900 eligible voters within the 220 constituencies would be disenfranchised.
He therefore wants the court to direct the party to prepare and deliver a complete and accurate Photo Album Register to the Plaintiff and other Presidential aspirants at least five weeks ahead of the elections to enable the aspirants to examine the register before the polls.
