Global Aid for the Marginalized embarks on a sensitization program for persons with disabilities

May 8, 2018
Reading Time: 2 mins read

The Global Aid for the Marginalized in partnership with Center for Employment of Persons With Disabilities has embarked on a sensitization program for persons with disabilities under its Ghana Literacy Entrepreneurial and Industrialization Program. This project was launched in 2015 to train persons with disabilities in Basic English and Mathematics as well as providing them with entrepreneurial skills such as rubber cutting, wreath making, liquid soap making etc. The project is aimed at making persons with disabilities self-sufficient and independent in order to wipe out the idea of them being economic burden to the society. “It is against this backdrop that we organized sensitization programme for persons with disabilities in the streets of Accra to orient them on the life changing programme packaged for them,” Executive Director of Global Aid for the Marginalized-Ghana, Francis Agyare Botchway explained. He assured beneficiaries: “We will not train you and leave you like that. We are like a family now. We will give you capital in order to establish yourself in what you were trained in”. Global Aid for the Marginalized is a fully registered non-profit (charity) organization that is headquartered in Ghana to reach the marginalized in Africa to build a better life, thus embarking on poverty alleviation programmes which focus on reducing hardship in the marginalized communities of Ghana. Francis Botchwey commended Mr. Benard Hoffman and  Mavis Appiah Hoffmann, the president and Vice respectively of Global Aid for working harder to give persons with disabilities a better place in the society.
