Former President John Mahama[/caption] Former President John Dramani Mahama is calling for a rematch with President Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2020 presidential election after he was defeated by the latter in the 2016 general elections. Speaking during a recent visit to Lancing Secondary School in the United Kingdom, President Akufo-Addo indicated that he was undecided about leading his party in the 2020 polls. But former President Mahama, who is on a five-day campaign tour of constituencies in the Brong Ahafo Region to meet with NDC delegates ahead of the party’s flagbearership contest, is urging Nana Akufo-Addo to contest the next elections. The former president told delegates of Nkoranza South constituency at a meeting in Nkoranza on Thursday that a contest between the two will be the final decider between them, since they both won a presidential election. Sounding very confident of victory in the 2020 elections, Mr Mahama said a final bout is not just imperative but it is also important for the NDC to work hard to reduce the high cost of living and provide jobs.
