Businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Seidu Agongo has donated beverages and prayer materials to the Muslim community at Accra Academy as part of activities marking the holy month of Ramadan.
The gesture, aimed at supporting Muslim students observing the fast, was described by the philanthropist as a way of sharing the blessings of the sacred period with the younger generation while encouraging compassion and generosity.
In a statement, Alhaji Agongo noted that Ramadan is not only a period of fasting but also a time for reflection, charity and renewed commitment to supporting one another.
“Moments like these remind us that Ramadan is not only a period of fasting, but also a time for compassion, generosity, and renewed commitment to one another,” he stated.
He said the holy month calls on Muslims to reflect on their shared humanity and the responsibility to uplift others in society.

According to him, growing up from humble beginnings has shaped his belief that life gains its true meaning when individuals live not only for themselves but also for the benefit of others.
Drawing lessons from nature, he emphasized the importance of mutual support and solidarity among people, noting that human beings—honoured as part of Allah’s creation—must demonstrate kindness and compassion toward one another.
Alhaji Agongo also cited teachings from the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to underscore the significance of charity and service to humanity.
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain which grows seven ears; in every ear are a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies for whom He wills,” he quoted from the Qur’an.

He added that the Prophet Muhammad taught that the best people are those who are most beneficial to others.
The businessman said supporting the Muslim students during Ramadan may be a small gesture, but it reflects a central principle of Islam—that giving is not only charity but also an expression of faith, brotherhood and gratitude to Allah.
He prayed that Allah would accept acts of kindness performed during the holy month and strengthen the bonds within communities.
Ramadan is a significant period in the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide through fasting, prayer and charitable acts aimed at deepening faith and promoting compassion for others.
