John Hayward[/caption] Ghana’s governing party, the New Patriotic Party has been lambasted by Dr. John Hayward for staging a flamboyant and wasteful campaign as it holds national delegates’ conference in Koforidua. Dr. John Hayward made the observation when he delivered a solidarity message on behalf of the Conservative Party, a centre-right political party in the United Kingdom. “I came through the streets today, and I saw so many posters, posters of the wonderful candidates here in today’s conferenece. “But I had to reflect. I think I saw more posters than delegates here in the conference, I wondered, is this really the best use of our resources?” He felt the resources expended on campaign posters could have been put into a better use. “I have a lesson from the Conservative Party, which is, voters like parties which focus on the voters. Voters are less keen on parties but focus on internal processes,” Hayward said as he recounted his experience in campaigning. “And hope you can benefit from my experience as I encourage you to go forth from here today and focus your time, efforts and resources on reaching out to the voters of Ghana,” he added, urging them to get to the communities and take their concerns to implement policies that would benefit them. About 6,000 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have congregated at the Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region. Source: 3news.com | Ghana]]>
