Paa Kwesi Amissa Arthur was vice president under John Mahama[/caption] The Accra Regional Police Command has announced closure of some roads in the national capital, Accra, ahead of the burial service for the late former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur. The roads would be closed from Thursday 26th to Friday 27th July, 2018, the police said in a statement. The roads that would be affected are Osu Cemetary Traffic Light, on the Lokko Street and Castle road; from AU Circle to Osu Cemetery Traffic Light. However, motorists are encouraged to use the following alternate roads: Those coming from Lokko Street towards Castle road are to use Ajumako and Oxford Streets while traffic from the AU Circle towards the Castle road would be diverted unto the Abdul Diouf and King Hassan roads. “The general public especially motorists are urged to take note of these traffic arrangements and cooperate with the police to ensure effective traffic management,” the statement appealed. Traffic police officers, it said, would be deployed to vantage points to offer the needed assistance. The former vice president would be laid in state at the Accra International Conference Centre and interred at the Military Cemetery on Friday. By Steve Lissassi | 3news.com]]>
