DPSI Ghana launches magazine and foundation

June 7, 2018
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Tema-based Delhi Public School International (DPSI-Ghana) has launched its charity wing dubbed, DPSI Care Foundation. It has also introduced its magazine named ‘Splash’. Both the magazine and foundation were launched on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the school’s campus.. The foundation seeks to streamline and boost DPSI’s social responsibilities initiatives while the magazine is to serve as the official mouthpiece of the school. DPSI has since its inception, engaged itself in key charitable projects such as medical outreaches and the award of scholarships to brilliant but needy children. Speaking at the launch of the Foundation and the magazine, Director of DPSI Ghana, who doubles as the Chairman of B5 Plus Steel and Iron Company Limited, Mukesh Thakwani, urged the students to manage the DPSI Care Foundation. According to him, the aim of establishing the Foundation was to inculcate into DPSI students the culture of giving back to society. He therefore encouraged them to undertake several charitable initiatives through the Foundation, intimating that it was the hope of the school that its children will grow to become responsible and caring men and women in society. The day was also used to celebrated mothers. On the purpose of the Mother’s Day celebration, Mr Thakwani, an accomplished Indian businessman and philanthropist, observed that “we wanted to make our children realise the importance of mothers in our lives.” He indicated that mothers all over the world played extraordinary roles in the lives of their families and societies and therefore deserve to be celebrated.
