Police cage 35 Kasoa prostitutes; some face deportation

The Kasoa District Command has rounded up 35 suspected prostitutes in an evening swoop on two bars within the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central region. The operation was in an effort to get rid of people involved in criminal activities within the Kasoa area. The two raided drinking spots were Old School Bar at Budumburam Camp and Nigeria Bar at Nyanyano on Thursday evening. The total of 35 women arrested by the police were aged between 20 and 45. The women suspected of engaging in prostitution were made up of nationals of Benin, Nigeria, Liberia, Mali and Ghana. “The suspects are being screened and those that are in the area without legal documentation will be handed over to Immigration Service for deportation,” the police said.
